Vítkov monument

Vítkov monument was built in years 1929-1938. After 1948 was misused as Klement Gottwald museum. Statue in front of the mausoleum is Jan Žižka – one-eyed warlord on the horse. Below the statue is grave of unknown soldier. In years 1953-1962 there was stored Klement Gottwald body – mummy. 100 employees took care of mummy, every night they took body down to the lab and embalmed whole corpse.
